Bahamas cruise 03/25/2012
I had so much fun on the cruise with my husband, my niece and her husband. Our first stop was at Coco Cay which was owned by the cruise line. This island was very beautiful. Since it's sole purpose was for people to relax and enjoy the beach, the whole island was very manicured. I could not believe how perfect the scenery was, it looked just like a backdrop. For the majority of the time all four of us just played in the ocean and laid out. Aj and I went on a little nature hike where we saw some lizards and an iguana. When we got back to the ship we immediately had to buy some aloe since everyone was so sunburn. (except me :)) I had a little redness on my shoulders, but compared to everyone else looking like lobsters, I felt very lucky. Later that night chad, Lindsay, and I went to a comedian/juggler who was quite funny and talented!. The second island we stopped at was Nassau. We had fun just walking around but i think all of us liked Coco Cay better. We did however enjoy walking through the Pirate Museum. We all retired to the ship early that day due to sicknesses and sunburns. That night we went to Battle of the Sexes. I don't know about the others, but I know I had fun watching guys and girls compete in different mini race type games. Overall, I was very grateful to have a few days off of school and work. I enjoyed relaxing with my husband and also getting to spend time with Lindsay and Chad. 1 Comment Working on my ceramic Elephant! 02/27/2012
I brought some clay home from my ceramics class and decided to hand-build something. That something turned into an elephant. I took a couple pictures in case it doesn't make it out of the kiln in one piece. A lesson at the Gym 01/13/2012
This morning, as I was at the gym, I was working out next to a couple probably in their 60's. I was touched by the care they showed towards one another. The man looked fairly healthy and strong but the woman was frail and it was obvious she has a major illness. Her skin was very pale, her eyes were sunken in, and she had no hair. She could hardly lift the smallest amount of weight but her husband was right next to her to help. They would smile at each other as they passed to the next machine; it was obvious they loved each other. As I observed this couple I came close to tears as I thought about my husband and how he would be right there to help me. I know he will always encourage me to do the things that I love. He is very motivating because he doesn't lie when I ask how good I am at something, but he always asures me that I can become great at anything if I truely work hard and I use my passion to get there. In the 30 minute circuit training, where I saw that lovely couple, I discovered how the workout relates to life. The workout starts at the platform #1 where you walk to warm up, just like how life starts. There are 10 platforms and 10 machines for a person to go through in 30 minutes. (Platform, Machine, Platform , Machine..) The weight machines are the hard part and you cant wait to get to the relaxation of the platform.. You know the hard part will end sooner or later but sometimes you forget, so it is easy to want to give up. This is how life is exactly, but I know I can do it if I just push! I saw that the weight machines were easier for the woman when her husband gave a hand for support. He didn't do the work for her, he just gave her comfort and an extra motivation. When I am going through the hard parts in life my husband is so good at just BEING THERE which means if I wanted he would give me advice, talk through the logical side of things, and number one...he will hold me. Trip is now planned! 01/08/2012
We changed our minds on the location of our spring break trip several times. We went through all of the following: Taiwan, Italy, France, Morocco, England, Germany, and Ireland. We finally booked our tickets...to the Caribbeans! Totally a different direction, but we both decided we wanted to go some place warm and we would enjoy Europe more in the summer. (Not necessarily this summer). I am so excited to go on a cruise with my wonderful husband! I can't wait. So excited right now! 12/05/2011
There are so many things to be excited about right now! I am done with all my papers and school projects and now all I really have left are is studying for my finals! After finals Aj and I essentially just get to hang out for a few weeks. Right now we are brainstorming for our Spring Break vacation. We are thinking maybe Italy, England, or Rome. Wahoo! We found our Christmas sweaters from a year ago and decided to take another picture! Here they are: Christmas time is here! 11/28/2011
Aj took our Christmas Card picture today out by the lights on Main Street. He is so talented...and handsome! Week of Thanksgiving 11/26/2011
Although Thanksgiving is over...I am still grateful for many things. For example, today I got home from getting lunch and our car tire was completely flat. I hurried it over to the tire shop and the mechanic said he wasn't allowed to fix it. Then he smiled and did it anyways...and since it wasn't allowed, he did not charge us ANYTHING:) What a great little blessing. This is my "nephew" Levi. He is so adorable and he makes me so happy. I took this picture at Thanksgiving dinner in Mesquite with Jordan Gardner's family. Jubilee of trees with Aj's mom, his sister Sara, and her kids. I love Christmas time! There are many things to be grateful for ALL THE TIME. Of course my number one thing is my husband. This is a photo I took of him while we were doing a shoot in front of a giant Sara Lee sign on the Blvd. Back to training... 11/16/2011
Let's get this thing going...finally 11/13/2011
This should have been started many months or even years ago. I have made many attempts to blog using blogspot but I just don't like the setup enough. There have so many recent events I wish I had organized into a blog and since I want no regrets I am going to do my best to sum-up the past few months. Married to Arthur James Mellor on June 4, 2011I cut my hair super short and i am loving it!Aj and I went on an awesome hiking/camping trip up Forsythe Trail in Pine Valley.
